Understanding motocross graphics fitment

01 — Fitment follows the plastics

Graphics are cut to match the exact shape of your bike’s plastics. Every piece is designed around specific parts like shrouds, number plates, fenders, and fork guards. Each design is built from a template tied to a specific make, model, and year.

02 — Plastics change in generations

Manufacturers often use the same bodywork for several model years before introducing a redesign. Those year spans are plastic generations, and each generation uses its own graphics template.

Example — Honda redesigned the CRF450R with slimmer bodywork for 2021, so the 2020 and 2021 models require different graphics templates.

03 — Make, model, and year define fitment

Engine size does not determine graphics fitment. Two-stroke and four-stroke models should not be assumed interchangeable—for example, the Yamaha YZ250 and YZ250F.

Some motorcycles may share plastic shapes within a generation, but fitment is always confirmed by the exact make, model, model year, and bodywork design.

04 — Use the model year, not the purchase date

Bikes may reach dealers before their official model year, and dealers may also sell leftover stock from an earlier year. A bike purchased in late 2025 may therefore be a 2026 model.

Use the VIN label or frame sticker to confirm the official model year.

05 — OEM and restyle plastics use different templates

OEM plastics — Original factory bodywork manufactured to the motorcycle maker’s specifications for that exact model and year.

OEM-replacement plastics — Aftermarket pieces intended to reproduce the factory bodywork shape (Acerbis, UFO, Polisport, Cycra, and others).

Restyle plastics — Aftermarket bodywork redesigned with shapes that differ from the original OEM plastics.

MXISLAND kits are produced for OEM-shaped plastics by default. Selected restyle templates are available. Provide the exact manufacturer and restyle-kit details so we can confirm the correct template before production.

06 — Choosing your fitment

Confirm your exact make, model, and model year in the product options above.

If your bike uses aftermarket or restyle plastics, include the brand and kit details in Aftermarket Plastics Details so we can match the appropriate template.

The compatibility chart shows the verified model and year ranges available for this graphics kit. If you’re unsure, contact us before ordering and we’ll help confirm the correct fitment.

Graphics only — plastics are not included.
